Precision, safety, and comprehensive monitoring for every operation.

Advanced Veterinary Surgery & Comprehensive Perioperative Care

Having a pet undergo veterinary surgery can be an anxious experience for pet owners, but our medical team is dedicated to providing the highest standard of perioperative care. We offer general soft tissue surgery Monday through Friday, utilizing advanced anesthetic protocols, precise surgical techniques, and comprehensive monitoring to ensure optimal outcomes.
Surgical Procedures

Every surgical candidate undergoes a rigorous pre-anesthetic evaluation to assess organ function and minimize physiological risk. For routine and elective procedures, your pet is in the highly capable hands of our primary care veterinary team. For complex orthopedic repairs or advanced soft-tissue operations, we proudly collaborate with board-certified surgical specialists who travel directly to our clinic, so your pet can receive expert specialty care right here in the facility they already know.

Services

Surgery is often a vital step in treating an illness, removing concerning growths, or protecting your pet’s long-term health. By following AVMA standards and utilizing the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, we strictly adhere to sterile protocols to keep your pet safe from infection and promote a comfortable, healthy recovery.

Our surgical capabilities include:

  • Elective Procedures: Ovariohysterectomies (spays) and castrations (neuters) performed with close anesthetic monitoring to ensure both safety and long-term reproductive health.
  • Soft Tissue Surgery: Excision of cutaneous masses, laceration repair, and comprehensive abdominal exploratory operations.
  • Pre-Anesthetic Diagnostics: Mandatory pre-anesthetic bloodwork and the placement of intravenous (IV) catheters for all anesthetic procedures to maximize patient safety.
  • Pain Management: We proactively administer anti-nausea, anti-inflammatory, and advanced pain management protocols to significantly reduce post-surgical discomfort.
  • On-Site Partnering Specialists: When a case requires specialized intervention—such as TPLO/cruciate repairs, fracture stabilization, or intricate soft-tissue excisions—we bring board-certified surgeons directly to our facility to perform the procedure.

FAQ

While any medical procedure carries inherent risk, our team goes to great lengths to minimize those risks. We require mandatory pre-anesthetic bloodwork to ensure your pet’s internal organs can safely process the anesthesia. During the procedure, your pet will have an IV catheter for emergency fluid access, and our licensed staff will continuously monitor their vitals from induction through recovery.

Preparation depends entirely on your pet’s age, medical history, and the specific procedure being performed. While most adult pets are required to fast the night before surgery to prevent complications, puppies, kittens, and diabetic patients have different requirements. Our medical team will provide you with precise, step-by-step instructions during your pre-surgical consultation. You can also review our general Patient Preparation Protocols online at any time.

Keeping your pet comfortable is a top priority. We utilize an aggressive, multimodal approach to pain management, meaning we preemptively administer analgesic and anti-inflammatory medications before the procedure begins. When your pet is discharged, we will also provide carefully prescribed pain control medications for you to administer at home.
For most soft-tissue procedures, we utilize absorbable sutures placed beneath the skin, meaning there are no stitches to remove later. However, preventing your pet from licking or chewing the incision site is critical to avoiding post-operative infections. Depending on the surgery, we will likely send your pet home with a cone, E-collar, or a specialized recovery suit, which must remain on until the incision is fully healed.
We happily provide all the necessary medical records and itemized invoices you need to submit a claim to your pet insurance provider. Because coverage varies widely, we always recommend checking with your insurance provider prior to a procedure.
